Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra RV waste valve. This valve adds or replaces a 3 inch waste valve on your RV. It's made from a durable black plastic construction. It's going to feature a hub connection on this side and an MPT connection on this side, that's male pipe thread. Taking a few measurements of the hub side. Inner diameter, 3 and 1/2 inches.
Outer diameter is right around 4 inches. The threaded side, that's going to give us an outer diameter measurement of about 3 and 1/2 inches. The unit also features a black T-handle, which allows for easy operation. Just pull it to open the valve, and then push it back down to close the valve. The unit also features the appropriate seals to offer leak proof performance. A few measurements to go over with you real quick.
We're going to take a look at the overall length of the unit with the handle in the closed position. That's going to give us a measurement of around 9 and 1/2 inches, and then with it in the open position, that's going to extend the overall length to right around 12 and 7/8 of an inch to 13 inches long. Really nice design, it's also going to feature the connection point at here, so that way you can add a cap with a tether, and you can connect the tether to this pin. That way you don't misplace or lose your cap. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra RV waste valve..

My experience with Valterra valves is that they're very reliable and of good quality. This valve fit perfectly for my application (on a 3in ABS sewer pipe) I was able to install in minutes. Used my old cap as it has a hose bib.

We have a unusual application for these valves. We use them to empty the water out of sample drawers that we use to bring up deep sea animals and rock samples etc.. The drawer in the photo holds 50 gallons of sea water. Once the samples are removed, we need to empty the internal water as quickly as possible. These valves when open empty the 50 gal in minutes. The low profile design helps save valuable space. The sample drawers are mounted on robotic submarines capable of diving several thousands of meters deep.
Impressed with the quality when inspecting when received. Valve opened and closed smoothly and the seal felt solid.

Last November I purchased a drain valve from etailer. I recently got around to installing it on my 2018 Montana High Country fifth wheel camper. The valve shut offs are operated by (throttle) cable. These valves do not always close completely. I chose to install the valve at the outlet just in case the cable valves don't completely close. Attached is a before and after picture.

Fit perfect no leaks
It prevents any surprises. You will need to cut off the twist fitting and use ABS glue for the installation of this model.
I have a Hitchhiker 2 that features a waste valve connected to the tank, which is located in the middle, under the camper, with extended handles that I purchased, enabling me to access the valve from the side of the camper. Once I removed the under belly and replaced the valve they seem to work great

Fast shipping and everything seem to work great.
I had to replace approximately 24 inches of pipe, elbows, and blade valve. It took me awhile to find out that ABS pipe is measured Inside Diameter, and I didn't want to cut the pipe until I was absolutely sure. Once I was sure, it all went in well. I used a flexible straight connector to put it in place, and that solved many problems. Attached is a photo of my finished assembly. By the way, that "liquid sealant" sold in stores is Worthless!
I purchased 4 gate valves for a home-made pond filter system (the MK-2 from England). They have worked as advertised. I have had to re-apply some additional rubber caulking due to a tiny leak (not due to the gate valve). Otherwise, no complaint. If I've ever the need, I'll probably look to this gate valve again in future.
The valve arrived as promised in excellent condition. The valve was made of heavy duty material and fit perfectly.
